Reserve and collect terms and conditions

Tickenham Garage Car Sales are pleased to offer a reserve and collect service for all customers around the United Kingdom. This service allows you to reserve the car for a small amount payable either by telephone or online banking. Once the reservation fee is received, the car will be held for you for 10 days (including weekends and bank holidays) or longer if pre agreed between both parties. 

When using the reserve and collect service, we will offer you the following services to enable you to make the right choice.

  1. Video call to see the inside and outside of the vehicle
  2. Information relating to service history and previous MOT Data. MOT Data is extracted from the DVLA website and can be easily obtained by anyone.
  3. Information relating to finance packages that are available at the time of reservation. 
  4. Pictures and videos of the car upon your request

When you arrive to see the car, you will be able to test drive, review the car outside of our garage, and if pre-booked, utilise a 3rd party mechanical or bodywork specialist to provide a written report on the vehicle. Please note, mechanical inspections that require a ramp need to be booked in with Tickenham Garage (01275 852035) at least 3 days in advanced. We will also require copies of the 3rd parties Liability Insurance and Risk Assessments. 

When you have reviewed the car through any of the above ways, you will then be able to choose whether to purchase the car or not. If you choose to go ahead with the sale, the reservation fee that you have already paid will be deducted from the cars price. If you are not satisfied for any reason, you can cancel the reservation and we will refund the reservation amount in full. 

If you proceed with the purchase of the used vehicle, we will complete the following :

  1. Transfer the car into your name
  2. Accept full payment for the price of the vehicle
  3. Assist you with taxing the car before driving away
  4. Provide you with details of your warranty (where applicable) and send you a welcome pack and policy schedule within 3 days of the cars transfer date

Completing the sale and accepting the vehicle by paying in full is confirming to us that you are happy with the vehicle and that you have been provided with all information required to enable you to make your decision. 

Tickenham Garage Car Sales will not accept liability for any defects to the cars bodywork or aesthetic damage once the car has left our site.   This includes but is not limited to, windscreens, bodywork, tyres, wheels, trims, mirrors and aerials. 

Any mechanical issues that happen during your warranty period should be notified to both us, the seller and the warranty company should you wish to claim. We are unable to interfere with another garages work should you wish to claim using the warranty for the vehicle. It is vital to note, if you are wanting a successful claim, your garage must contact the warranty company prior to engaging with any work on the motor vehicle. Any work completed without a valid claim authorisation number is likely to be rejected. 

When you buy a used vehicle in England, there are laws to protect both the seller and the buyer.  The purchase of a car from Tickenham Garage Car Sales using the reserve and collect service is not covered under the Distance Selling Regulations as you must attend site in order to purchase the car.
