In recent years, BMW’s production of electric cars has been slower than some may have expected. With a clear leader in the electric car industry being Tesla, BMW’s smaller production of 300,000 electric cars is rather small when you look at the market overall. This could all well change.
BMW have said that they are looking to increase their share of the electric car market and are looking to release several fully electric cars over the coming years.
BMW Said “We have already over 300,000 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids on the road and more are on the way. In 2019 we’ll launch the MINI Electric. In 2020 the BMW iX3 will come. Then in 2021 we will launch the BMW iNEXT and the i4, so by that year we will have five core electric vehicles on the ground. This underlines our strong commitment to future mobility.”
Whilst BMW has been slow on the uptake of electric cars, here at Tickenham Garage we love their design and craftsmanship in all of their models, we are excited to see what comes to the market next.
